Editorial Policy
How we write, source and review everything in our Guides and Tools.
Parents make real decisions on the back of what they read at 3 AM. This page sets out exactly how our content is produced, so you can judge it rather than trust it blindly.
What we publish, and what we do not
Growbaby is a general wellness and parenting-support product. Our guides describe what is typical at a given age and what public health bodies recommend. They never diagnose, never prescribe, and never tell you to do something instead of contacting your clinician. Where a topic has a clear safety answer, such as infant safe sleep, we state that answer plainly and cite it.
Where the facts come from
Every factual claim traces to a named public source, and those sources are listed at the bottom of each guide with direct links, so you can check any sentence yourself. We prefer, in this order:
- Guidance from health bodies: the American Academy of Pediatrics (healthychildren.org), the CDC, the World Health Organization, the NHS, and ACOG for pregnancy topics.
- Official datasets, used as published. Our growth percentile calculator, for example, runs on the WHO Child Growth Standards LMS parameters exactly as distributed by the CDC, not on numbers we typed in by hand.
- Peer-reviewed research, when it is needed to explain a mechanism and when the finding is not contested.
We do not publish content built on folklore or prediction dressed up as science. That rules out a set of popular, high-traffic parenting tools, such as gender predictors and eye-colour guessers. Losing that traffic is the cost of being a source you can rely on.
Who writes and who reviews
Guides are written by the Growbaby content team against the sources above. Ranges are presented as ranges, with the variation between healthy babies stated rather than hidden, because a parent whose baby sits outside an average deserves context, not alarm.
We are currently building our clinical review panel. Until a named clinician has actually read a given guide, that guide carries no review badge, and its byline says only what is true: written by the Growbaby team, against the guidance it cites. We would rather show you nothing than show you an approval from nobody in particular. When a guide is reviewed, the reviewer is named, with their credentials and a profile page you can check.
Dates, updates and corrections
Each guide shows when it was published and, if it has changed, when it was last updated. We revisit guidance-sensitive pages when the underlying recommendation changes. If you spot an error, tell us at support@growbaby.ai and we will correct it and update the date. Substantive corrections are noted on the page rather than quietly overwritten.
Independence
Nothing on this site is paid placement. We do not run ads, we do not accept sponsored content, and no brand pays to be mentioned in a guide. Our guides link to the Growbaby app where the app is genuinely the tool for the job, and those links are ours, not an advertiser's.
How our tools are built
Our calculators run entirely in your browser. Nothing you type into them, your baby's weight, your dates, is sent to us or stored anywhere. Each tool page names its data source and shows its limits, including where an estimate stops being reliable.
Nothing here is medical advice. Growbaby is not a medical device and does not diagnose or treat. For any question about your or your baby's health, talk to your pediatrician or another qualified healthcare provider. In an emergency, call your local emergency number.
